Scary situation. I believe they attempts to gain control of access to www by controlling browsers. Another gatekeeper if you will. Especially since browsers could block targeted sites and eavesdrop on anything filled in forms, such as passwords and post content.
Wise choice indeed
Some websites refuse to run on alternative web browsers. I notice this when it comes to the corporate world. I'm sure it will continue to "break the web" long into the future. I notice how many companies only want consumers, employees and clients using the mainstream big tech web browsers. What I do to get around it is I have a seperate isolated computer just for legit buisness and email. I do everything else on my other computer which I do not associate myself with on any personal level. This offers me better privacy as well.
>>post2667 Welcome, you are at the right place already. Before tech understanding comes curiosity. What type of tech are you interested in?
i want to be a tech nerd, where and how do i start
Pavel Durov (from telegram) said in his interview with Tucker Carlson that the american authorities were interested in knowing which open source crypto libraries Telegram used. Possibly also wanting to advocate telegram to use specific libs. Anyone heard anything about open source crypto libraries being compromised?
Very true. Specially the apple/google monopoly that effectively gatekeep everyones access to apps. I suspect it's only a matter of time before the come for web-browsers too.
Just want to give a shoutout here to what is left of the REAL INTERNET: Soulseek, Nicotine+, Fopnu, WinMX, DC++, Emule, Retroshare, Shareaza, Tixati.... P2P is where the free internet still reigns!!!
I agree. Smartphones were a mistake too. They also helped centralize and incorporate the internet we witness today.
ssl certificates were a mistake. Should have been accept/deny on first visit
