I watched the original horror film Halloween last night. Classic horror movie. One of my friends called up and says they were airing the orginal The Haunting on TV, he had that playing in the background. Otherwise the night was pretty boring for me. Sober and wasn't feeling all that great. Had too much spicy food that was bothering my gut, but at least I got to relax and watch a classic horror film.

adding to the horror film list/discussion:
5) the shining
4) the texas chainsaw massacre
3) dawn of the dead
2) the thing
1) evil dead 2
Evil dead 2 is the best horror film IMO, no questions. There's a reason it's been such a cult hit for so long.

All the previous films mentioned are pretty scary.

The Shining is a cult classic, a must see psychological horror film. I've probably watched that film a dozen times no lie. The original 1974 Texas Chainsaw Massacre was also a very suspenseful, shocking and outright scary film too (although some may mistake it to be, the original film is not a grotesque slasher film and does have a very interesting plot). If I were to add three more cult classics in the horror genre it would be George A. Romero's original 'Living Dead' series: Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead and Day of the Dead.

Great idea. I must confess I haven't really watched any scary movies, but will try to think of the 5 most scary I films I have seen. Always wanted to watch the shining, so will do just that and see if it makes the list.

How about, considering Halloween is near, we make a list of the 5 best horror films to watch for October? I'll go first:

1) Halloween (1978)
2) The Hills Have Eyes (1977)
3) House of 1000 Corpses (2003)
4) Summer of '84 (2018)
5) Carnival Of Souls (1962)

I had a hard time with this list not including movies like Desolation (2017), The Shining (1980) and The Blair Witch Project (1996) which are also really good horror films. Feel free to add those or other good flicks, I'd like to see something spooky I haven't watched this year :P
