Avoid seed oils too. They are so bad and used as fill processed food.

+1 for what the other anon wrote. I have been cutting sugar intake (just some not all) for two weeks now. Might be placebo, but I feel better. So seems to work for me too.

Both. Sugar itself, even organic cane sugar, is not good for you. Even worse if you get the bulk bleached processed sugar. Sugar itself is what cancer feeds off of, too much sugar in your regular diet helps cancer cells become malignant over time. It also can make you fat too.

A limited amount of sugar will not kill you though. Just as long as you keep sugar consumption down to a minimum. Carbs also apply to that as well.

It's good to cut down on both sugar and carbs too. Carbs convert to sugar. Potatoes, pasta, breads and fruit are all rich in carbohydrates. A small amount of carbs is not bad, you should have some carbs but the point is not to over-consume them. Also, getting exercise will help burn off carbs (and fat too), which give you more energy.

People that excessively eat carb-rich foods often become fat, sluggish and lazy. Over time they risk having serious health problems if they do not cut back.

For some, keto makes you feel better and helps you lose weight. For former binge drinking alcoholics like myself, it helped save my life and from dying from type II diabetes.

What most people do not know is sugar stimulates cancer growth. Too much sugar in your diet (and both carbs & alcohol are converted to sugar by your liver) can lead to cancer and diabetes later in life. So the Keto diet focuses on reducing one particular toxin in your consumption: sugar!

Interesting. I have always been skeptical of all the different diet schemes, but after hearing a talk on sugar and ultraprocessed food I am open to new ideas. Could you feel a noticeable difference when you switched to the keto diet or is it more in theory it should be better?

Oranges contain A LOT of sugar. If you have blood sugar problems, or any form of diabetes, you would definitely wish to refrain from certain fruits due to the high sugar content. Too much carbs and sugar consumption DOES lead to diabetes and other cancers! I'm not saying never eat oranges, go ahead, but understand having certain health conditions eating oranges might actually exacerbate your problems. When I heard I had diabetes I was shocked when I did my research finding out fruit is NOT actually as "good for you" as people wish to believe.

I forgot to mention eggs and fish are also considered healthy to eat. As far as rice not being the healthiest, it is far better than eating pasta which I no longer consume and have substituted pasta for rice. It is easy to limit rice consumption by mixing it up with other foods, such as natural fats, meats, vegetables and spices. As long as you limit rice consumption it won't do much harm even if diabetic.

I remain on a keto diet, basically avoiding sugar and limiting the amount of carbs I eat. My diet consists of natural animal fats, meats, vegetables, beans, rice, nuts and of-course spices and herbs to flavor dishes. Fruit is tricky with diabetes. If you eat grapes and oranges you risk consuming too much sugar and your blood glucose could spike to undesirable levels. So any fruit consumption must be limited and regulated to certain kinds. No soda. No highly processed foods. I try my best to keep everything certified organic non-GMO. Keto is a good way to reverse diabetes but you have to keep at it in the long run and exercise daily. I also take numerous vitamins and health supplements daily, some which help control my blood sugar and blood pressure too.

I am assured with the excessive amount of alcohol I have consumed within my lifetime I would have already been DEAD had I relied on the medical establishment!!!

The number and type of medications on backorder in the US right now is stunning. It's not like we're talking about obscure genomic stuff or weird chemo. We're talking plain lidocaine. We're talking ketamine. We're talking simple antibiotics. It's an absolute travesty what is going on.
